Here’s how you can throw a cocktail party this season, Chaco Flaco style!
Create Cocktail Batches
To start, work smarter by pre-batching your cocktails. As a cocktail aficionado, take one from the pro playbook and set up your work area so that you have everything handy.
This means having your garnishes chopped, juices squeezed, and your ice stocked (see next point). Your bar tools and glasses should also be assembled and ready to use.
Pre-batch your cocktails and keep them chilled beforehand. Most cocktails can be prepped this way, especially if you are using our mixers or RTD cans. When the time comes, you just need to add some ice and serve.
Prepping this way also helps you avoid the frustration of being called every time a drink goes empty. With cocktail batches or cans, anyone can refill their drink. And since this is a house party, why not put up the recipe to also get guests involved?
Don’t Scrimp on the Ice
Summer or no summer, ice is essential to the cocktail. Conventional wisdom is to buy ice from the store. But those are just small cubes that melt super-fast.
Instead, make your own ice with boiled or distilled water frozen in large containers, such as loaf pans. Once frozen, you can cut the ice into smaller blocks and add large pieces to a punch bowl or cooler.
Pick a Theme
With an infinite variety of cocktails out there, make life simple by choosing a theme and narrowing down your drinks menu. Is it appetizers only or hosting a BBQ?

This includes putting up quieter music, picking up the glasses, and closing the “bar”. It also goes without saying that not everyone is a heavy drinker, so keep a tab on the rounds each guest takes.
But be a good host and put out some wine and beer. And since everyone doesn’t consume alcohol, consider putting out mocktails for such guests, especially for designated drivers.
